Hi, I'm Sparky Rose, and I've been fighting for this industry longer than most people have been in it.
In 2004, I won one of the first four medical dispensary licenses ever issued in the United States. I grew Compassionate Caregivers in Oakland from two locations to seven in under 18 months with 280+ employees, over $5M a month in revenue. I believed in what we were doing so completely that when the law came for us, I didn't run. I was arrested and incarcerated in federal prison for my state-legal operations. To this day, veterans of this movement will pull me aside at events and thank me for my "service," and every time it hits me the same way. I wasn't a soldier, so I find it a little uncomfortable. But there's no doubt that I fought for something that mattered, and I appreciate that people recognize.
After I got out, I helped co-found Papa & Barkley, one of the most beloved brands cannabis has ever produced. I became the first CMO of PharmaCann, built their marketing team from zero, created the matter. brand and product line, and rethought what a medical dispensary experience could actually feel like. Since then, I've consulted for dozens of operators across California, Colorado, Illinois, Florida, Michigan, and plenty more states than I care to list out.
Consulting has been thin in 2025 and 2026 and I started going back to my tech roots. It gave me time to do something about a problem that's been driving me crazy since I arrived in Arizona in 2024. Every time I walk into a dispensary, I'm hit with the same wall of chaos. Deal boards stacked to the ceiling. Most Arizona dispensaries have over 50 individual specials that run each day. Many have more than 100! And they change each and every day. The entire burden lands on the consumer, and that's completely backwards.
